A popular bagged salad has been recalled across the country, including in California, over a "life-threatening" concern it poses for consumers.

Taylor Fresh Foods has recalled its branded Honey Balsamic Salad Kits after it was determined they may contain sesame and soy allergens not declared on the product packaging, according to a recall notice shared August 26 by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. This poses the risk of causing a "serious or life-threatening allergic reaction" in consumers with an allergy or severe sensitivity to sesame and/or soy.

The recall was launched after the individual packets of dressing and toppings supplied by Latitude 36 Foods "incorrectly included Asian Sesame Ginger dressing rather than the intended Honey Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing," per the FDA.

The affected products, which feature codes starting with "TFRS" and a "Best If Used By" date up to September 4, 2025, were distributed in over two dozen states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington and West Virginia. No other Taylor Farms products are included in the recall.

Anyone who purchased the affected product is encouraged not to consume it and to throw it out. Refunds can be inquired about at the the place of purchase. There have been no reported illnesses in connection to the recall as of August 26.
