Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison pleaded to a lesser, "wet reckless" vehicular offense in relation to his DUI case and will pay a standard fine and complete two online courses, at which point his probation will likely be terminated early within six months, his agent, Tim Younger, confirmed on his X account Thursday (July 17).
"Today , after careful consideration of the charges against him and all defenses, Jordan Addison decided to plead to a lesser included vehicular offense, commonly referred to as a “wet reckless.” As a result, Mr. Addison will pay a standard fine and complete two online courses after which we expect that his probation will be terminated early in six months. Over the past year, he voluntarily participated in MADD events and programs and, after reflection, decided to enter this plea understanding the ramifications of this decision. He has kept the organization apprised throughout these legal proceedings, and will continue in his full commitment to being a valuable member of his team," Yonger wrote.
Addison will now be subjected to possible discipline by the NFL and could've faced a baseline three-game suspension if convicted. The former USC standout was arrested weeks prior to last year's training camp session when he was found "asleep behind the wheel" of a vehicle blocking a freeway near Los Angeles International Airport.
Addison had previously arrested for a driving-related incident prior to the beginning of his rookie season. The Maryland native was cited for driving 140 MPH on a Minnesota freeway in July 2023 and agreed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor speeding charge, paying $686 in fines, while a charge of reckless driving was dismissed.
Addison was selected by the Vikings at No. 23 overall in the 2023 NFL Draft and had a breakout rookie season, recording 70 receptions for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns, as well as 63 receptions for 875 yards and nine touchdowns while playing through injuries in 2024.
