A new entrance to San Diego International Airport opens Friday morning.
It's part of the four billion dollar Terminal 1 redevelopment, which will unveil 19 new gates when the first phase opens next month.
The new road will make accessing the Terminal a lot easier. There will be no lights or intersection, so it's more direct and faster. The roadway will also take about 45 thousand cars off Harbor Drive each month.
A reminder for drivers, as you approach Terminal 1 on the new road,, it will split off into three segments. One. takes you to arrivals, another to departures, and the third connects to the Terminal 1 parking plaza and Terminal 2.
The total cost for this portion of the airport redevelopment is $620 million dollars.
