Perry Farrell Speaks To The Fans

Perry Farrell issued a statement and an apology for his actions on stage in Boston.

"This weekend has been incredibly difficult and after having the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family and friends for my actions during Friday’s show. Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in inexcusable behavior, and I take full accountability for how I chose to handle the situation."

If you ARE a rock fan, and haven't been living under a rock, you have come across the video of the Jane's Addiction blowup that took place over the weekend.

Well, the band have announced that the tour is over. Jane’s Addiction has canceled its tour, after Perry Farrell threw a punch at Dave Navarro during the band’s show on Friday in Boston.

“The band have made the difficult decision to take some time away as a group. As such, they will be cancelling the remainder of the tour,” the band said in a statement, as refunds will be issued.

Fan-captured videos have gone viral, of Farrell on stage singing toward the audience before turning to Navarro and screaming the lyrics angrily at him. He then body-checks Navarro, yelling at him, then throws a punch. Crew members rushed the stage and restrained Perry to take him off stage.

“We want to extend a heartfelt apology to our fans for the events that unfolded last night,” the band posted in a statement.

Farrell’s wife, Etty Lau Farrell, shared a statement,

“Perry’s frustration had been mounting, night after night, he felt that the stage volume had been extremely loud and his voice was being drowned out by the band. But when the audience in the first row, started complaining up to Perry cussing at him that the band was planning too loud and that they couldn’t hear him, Perry lost it.”

She went on to praise Navarro for de-escalating the situation,

“He finally did not calm down, but did breakdown and cried and cried.”

Jane's Addiction came back together with the song, “Imminent Redemption”!

Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro, Stephen Perkins, and Eric Avery, reunited for the first time, since the classic "Ritual de lo Habitual," the album that helped set the stage for the Alternative ruled 90's, but ultimately saw the end of the band. Their farewell would spawn the return of festivals with Lollapalooza, and the album and the critical acclaims that came with it would help see a change in rock.

Their split would lead to Farrell and Perkins forming Porno For Pyros, and Navarro would go on to join The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and although there have been previous Jane's Addiction reunions, none have had all four original members back to record music,

“It is different this time,” Farrell said. “To have everyone back together, releasing new music. It’s time. Welcome to the next chapter of Jane’s Addiction. ‘Imminent Redemption’ is only the beginning.”
