Bon Jovi's Tico Torres is not retiring!
Torres is ending the rumor that he’s retiring from the band.
"I'm here to dispel a lot of rumors that I've read," Torres posted. "People calling me up saying 'did you retire from music, from the band?' well... no, i have no idea how this stuff starts. Musicians don't retire, especially me. Me and the boys, Johnny and everybody, we're still making music.. I mean, the best we've ever been. All I can tell you is, don't listen to what you read, it's most likely bullshit. See you later!"
This all started when keyboardist David Bryan said that he and Jon were the only two original members remaining in the band in a podcast. Bryan hasn’t commented on what he said on the podcast, but it’s possible that Bryan may be referring to the previous band that both he and Jon were in as Bon Jovi. That band had fallen apart in the late 70’s after Bryan left to go to medical school. When Jon started to put together a new band that would become Bon Jovi, he got Bryan back, and David would call and recruit Alec John Such on bass and Torres, so technically he’s right and wrong about being the only original members of the band. Regardless of how you view it though, Torres is going nowhere, and since recently there has been a little flare up of famous rock drummers retiring from their bands, one can understand why Torres felt the need to set the record straight.
